Diammonium Phosphate 21-53-0

Is a product with high solubility in water, which ensures a rapid response to fertilization.As reaction fertilizer in the soil around a granule acidicication is generated that improves the utilization of phosphorus applied and available in the rhizosphere. Due to its nitrogen content ( present as ammonia), it is good for crops that require these nutrients in its initial phase.

Compared with MAP: The ammonium present in DAP is an excellent N source and will be gradually converted to nitrate by soil bacteria, resulting in a subsequent drop in pH. Therefore, the rise in soil pH surrounding DAP granules is a temporary effect. This initial rise in soil pH neighboring DAP can influence the micro-site reactions of phosphate and soil organic matter. DAP is alkaline with a high pH, exceeding 7.5. DAP is excellent for low pH or alkaline soils.

•             Isolate from incompatible substances, particularly alkaline material, as ammonia gas will be released.

Application Recommendations

Because of unique product characteristics, DAP can be applied through any irrigation system and on any growing medium. Unlike phosphoric acid, DAP is moderately acidic.Therefore, it is not corrosive to fertilizer pumps or to irrigation equipment. 

Compatibility

DAP is compatible with most water-soluble fertilizers, except for fertilizers containing calcium (Ca⁺⁺)or magnesium (Mg⁺⁺). To apply DAP in combination with calcium or magnesium fertilizers, use two fertilizer tanks. If only a single fertilizer tank is available, apply those fertilizers at different times. 

Quantitative Nutrigation

Each kilogram of DAP in the tank provides 530 grams of phosphorus (P₂O₅) and 210 grams of

ammonium-nitrogen (N-NH₄).

Foliar Feeding

Foliar spray with DAP is effective in supplying phosphorus whenever quick response to deficient plants is required. It should be considered as a supplemental method to soil applied phosphorous and nitrogen (as ammonia )
